The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma’s Environmental Department will be conducting FREE radon tests to homes, schools, and daycares throughout the winter.  Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that cannot be seen, smelled, or tasted.   It comes from the natural breakdown of Uranium soil, rock, and water; and can be found all over the United States.  Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer.  If you smoke and live or work in high levels of radon, the risk of getting lung cancer is greatly increased.  Testing is the only way to know if you are at risk.   If you are interested in a FREE radon test, please contact Bob Haskins at 918-666-5151 ext. 211.
